Hotel Redevelopment

As part of our continued commitment to enhance our property and service, we are currently in the process of a major redevelopment of the property.
Once the current redevelopment is completed the property will offer 110 guest rooms and apartments.
This will be accomplished by completely demolishing 38 rooms, many from the original build and building 80 new rooms.
Once complete, the hotel will offer a variety of room types. These will include one and two bedroom self-contained apartments many with bay views, Studio apartments, Bay & City view suites and Superior King rooms. The hotel will also provide an industry leading number of accessible rooms to enhance our inclusive travel offer. All guest rooms will be stunningly finished, featuring cutting edge technology.
Complementing the accommodation will be two restaurants and bars providing guests and Geelong residents with casual and contemporary dining options. 
Other on site facilities will include multiple function, conference and event spaces, a fitness centre, sauna and indoor lap pool.
The property will also feature secure underground parking for 75 vehicles with multiple EV charging stations.
Scheduled completion of the project is November 2025.
This redevelopment will expand on our vision to provide a positive and rewarding experience as an accommodation provider in the City of Greater Geelong.

During redevelopment, work will typically take place between 7AM and 5PM Monday to Friday.
As a result, there will be construction noise and we ask for your kind cooperation and patience during this time.
Notably there will be reduced guest room capacity and on site parking for the duration of the project.
We are continuing to offer breakfast, however Black Salt Restaurant Geelong has permanently closed for lunch and dinner.

Covid-19 Implemented Measures

During these uncertain times we would like to share the following information.

  • Firstly, the precautionary measures we have implemented with an aim to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and provide safe accommodation in Geelong.
  • Secondly, aim to provide greater flexibility to our guests around existing and future bookings.

CHANGES TO FACILITIES AND PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

✔  A Vaccination Policy to protect our team, guests and operations partners. All staff are fully vaccinated.

✔  Face masks are recommended for guests in all common areas.

✔  Cash Payments are not accepted during this time.

✔  Contact Tracing data will be provided to the relevant authorities if we are advised a guest has tested positive for COVID-19 and it is suspected they were carrying the virus during their stay with us. 

✔  Property Cleaning in all common areas and high touch points has increased in frequency. We continue the use of hospital-grade disinfectant in these areas.

✔  Arrival Rooms will be provided with an arrival service. Sanitizing all high touch point items i.e television remotes, a/c remotes, door handles, light switches. In-room housekeeping services will occur only when the room is vacant.

✔  Hand Sanitizer is provided for your convenience in your room and in the Reception area. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the property.

✔  Social Distancing is important. Please maintain a 1.5m distance from others. The Reception area currently has a maximum of 1 guest or travelling party at all times. Signage has been installed to remind all guests of these important measures.

✔  Food & Beverage service will continue to be adjusted in accordance with current recommendations. 

✔  Mini Bars have been removed from all guest rooms. We now offer a range of "Cheeky Treats" to satisfy your cravings during your stay                     delivered to your room.

✔  Contactless delivery of room service breakfast and "Cheeky Treats" items enables you to enjoy our services without having a staff member enter your room.

✔  Staff training in COVID-19 infection control, usage of PPE, cleaning protocols and thermal testing of staff has been implemented to ensure the health and safety of all our employees. All staff have completed the Infection Control Training course from the Australian Government and Aspen Medical.


EXISTING AND FUTURE RESERVATIONS

To ensure the flexibility of existing and future bookings we have applied the following cancellation policies. This includes those described as "non-cancellable" (“Advanced Purchase”).

✔  Existing reservations for individuals unable to travel due to Government restrictions or state border closures– including those described as "non-cancellable" (“Advanced Purchase”), can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival date.


HOTEL SERVICES

Air Conditioning
All guest rooms have individual reverse cycle air conditioning. If you have any difficulties in setting the air conditioning please contact reception.

 

Alarm Clock
A clock/radio is located near the bedside. If you have any difficulties in setting or tuning the clock/radio please contact reception.

 

Arrival 

On arrival you will need to provide a valid photo identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) and a credit card.

A credit card pre-authorisation of up to $250 to cover incidentals will be processed during check in.

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of funds on the “available balance” of a credit card provided.

This amount is to cover items such as accommodation and incidental charges, security deposit and possible damages.

 

Baby Facilities
Cots (additional fees) and highchairs are available upon request.

 

Business Requirements
Photocopying, printing and facsimile services are available at reception.

 

Car Park
Parking is provided within the hotel grounds for house guests. Undercover and underground parking is available.

Main entry height restriction is 2.8m and basement is 1.95m.

Check-In and Out Time
Check-in is from 2.00 pm - 10:00 pm. Reception is staffed 6 am to 10 pm on weekdays and 7 am to 10 pm on weekends & Public Holidays.

Early check-in may be available, please call our Reception team. 

Checkout time is 10.00 am.

If you wish to extend your stay, please advise reception the prior evening and we will endeavor to accommodate your request. (Charges may apply)

 

Cooking Facilities

Only our apartments have full kitchens including a stovetop, microwave, oven, washing machine, dryer, fridge and kettle.

 

Contactless Check-Out
Simply leave your key in your room or return your key to our dedicated contactless check-out box outside Reception.
 

First Aid
A first aid kit is located at Reception for basic emergency needs. 

 

Housekeeping
If you require any extra towels, pillows, blankets, etc. please contact reception.


Ironing Facilities

Iron and ironing board are available in all rooms. In apartments, the iron is stored under the laundry sink.

 

Lost And Found
It is the guest's responsibility to contact our Reception Team with any enquiries for items they may have left behind. We store all lost property items for a period of 1 month only, and are unable to store perishable items including food.

 

Luggage Storage

Luggage storage is available free of charge if you arrive prior to your room being available, or if you wish to leave your bags and explore Geelong on your departure day.

 

Messages
Messages will be kept at reception for collection.

 

Minibar - Cheeky Treats
Snack and beverage packages are delivered on demand. A list is provided in each room or available on our website, please call Reception to place an order.

 

Shuttle Services to Airport

Shuttle services are available from Avalon and Tullamarine Airports to Geelong Railway Station, which is approximately 1.5km from the hotel. 

Avalon Airport: SkyBus offers a shuttle service with fares starting from $11 one way.

Smoking

Bayside Geelong is a non-smoking premises and all rooms, including balconies and courtyards are smoke/vape free.

There are dedicated smoking areas on the property to reduce the effect on other guests, these are located in the carpark or out the front of the hotel.

 

Televisions

GuestCast - streaming from your personal device is available via connecting to GuestCast! See HDMI-1 for more information.

Hearing impaired Teletext option is available. Please contact reception to have this facility enabled.

Freeview – All televisions are tuned to the Free to Air digital television stations.

A wireless internet connection is available in each guest room. The password is available from reception.

At check-in we will require an acceptable form of Photo Identification. We will scan this information and store on our secure server for a period of 8 weeks. This requirement is to assist us in combating Credit Card Fraud and charge denials.
