OUR REDEVELOPMENT STORY

Like travelling back in time

And so it begins!

November 8 2022

We've officially started. Demolition has begun by stripping out anything recyclable. Once completed the big machines arrive!!

03/02/23 - About halfway there. 12 rooms demolished and most of the conference room!

07/02/23 - Taking a break from knocking down to clean up!

17/02/23 - A small group of 7 rooms “affectionately” called The Block by the team, is officially gone!

This block of units retrofitted in 2005 was despised by them all. Not loved by customers either. Especially the “family room” at the very top.

This was always a difficult group of rooms, representing challenges for staff and guest safety. If it was raining, you were going to get wet, getting to and from these rooms. Interestingly Room service was always popular in these rooms in winter and on rainy days.

We’re very pleased to see it go as we work towards our goals of building a better product for our team to work with and our guests to enjoy.

21/03/2023 - The site is all cleared and now we’re ready to start digging. ⛏
This entire area will be excavated for an underground carpark with over 80 bays for cars 🚗 🚙 and motorcycles 🏍 .

We'll include EV charging stations 🔌 and bicycle 🚲 lockers.

26/04/2023 - The Perry Demolition team have knocked it out the park. Click below to watch the amazing time lapse video.

08/08/2023 - Works on our hotel redevelopment continue with the excavated for an underground carpark with over 80 bays for cars 🚗 🚙 and motorcycles 🏍 to begin any day now.

25/11/2023 - Basement works are progressing ahead of schedule. Raised section for the pool and the all important connection to the existing basement car park.

01/02/2024 - First concrete pour today. Basement slab should be down before February 👏

04/03/2024 -  The building is really coming up out of the ground. Stairwell in the foreground and behind it the beginnings of the car park access ramp. The basement slab is complete and 2 pours done on the ground floor. Lots of form work underway for the remainder of the 8 pours for the ground floor.
