Whether you’re wrapping up a summer of racing or kicking off a new season, Greater Starts Here. The bayside town of Geelong is a gem that is no longer hidden on the IRONMAN Oceania circuit, attracting athletes from around Australia to race over it’s fair and scenic course – renowned for mild conditions, amazing crowd support, and a laidback and easy race vibe.
Located at the gateway to the world-famous Great Ocean Road, the region is renowned for its hospitality and welcoming tourism, providing the perfect playground for athletes and their families.
The course is the perfect mix of fast and challenging to both tempt and test athletes. It starts with a swim leg in the calm, protected waters of Corio Bay; followed by a two-lap bike course that takes in a part of the countryside, the salt flats and urban landscape. It finishes with a scenic two-lap run course which brings athletes along the spectacular waterfront before weaving along the main tourism strip of waterfront Geelong. It’s a great race for spectators with easy access to many vantage points all over the course.
